'Wakanda forever!' New video highlights the warriors of Black Panther

Advance ticket sales for the movie opened at the beginning of this week, and the figures turned out to be far better than expected.

Lupita was so awestruck by how quickly the advanced tickets were scooped up by ravenous Black Panther fans that she had to share the story on Twitter to reveal that after she promoted pre-sale tickets as available, she tried to get them herself but excited moviegoers had beat her to it. But judging from the newest featurette for Marvel's upcoming Black Panther film, the Dora Milaje are going to be something much more on the big screen.

While part of ticket sales may be driven by a special poster being offered with purchases, according to Fandango, tickets for the film have been "riding an incredible wave of momentum" since sales began last week.

Fandango said a survey of more than 8,000 moviegoers showed that "Black Panther" was voted as one of the year's top two most anticipated movies, ranking second to Disney-Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War", which includes numerous "Black Panther" characters, and Boseman was voted as the most anticipated comic book hero in a standalone movie. Looks like Ryan Coogler will get a bigger paycheck for Black Panther 2. The third Captain America film went on to gross over $1.2 billion worldwide.

One of the stars of the movie is Lupita Nyong'o, she is an Oscar victor, but that doesn't necessarily mean she can get tickets to her own movie.

Black Panther opens on February 16.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, with Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
