WhatsApp iPhone update allows YouTube videos to open directly inside conversations

Xiaomi has apologized to its customers over the whole WhatsApp becoming obsolete debacle, accepting full responsibility for the incident.

This "obsolete" error was faced mostly by Xiaomi users and on Wednesday, the Chinese electronics and software company took responsible for the error.

Earlier, to watch a shared YouTube link one has to pause their WhatsApp conversation and users were directed to the YouTube application. Did you also face this WhatsApp "obsolete" issue on your smartphone?

It is now clear that the error was not caused by WhatsApp. Hence, the company is not in a position to fix the problem.

Xiaomi has admitted that it had pushed a beta version of WhatsApp accidentally to its app store and some users had downloaded the same. After a thorough investigation, we learned that a beta version of WhatsApp was pushed out on our Mi App Store a few days ago, which some users updated to. "We apologise for any inconvenience faced by our Mi Fans, and promise to be more vigilant going forward", it added.

When somebody sends you a YouTube link on WhatsApp and you tap it, you'll no longer get kicked out of the messaging app and forced into the YouTube app.

The new WhatsApp for iPhone update comes with a new feature, where the YouTube video continues to play even after a user exits the chat.

Well, if you are a Xiaomi user who is still facing this issue, we advise you to update your WhatsApp from the Mi App Store, or, you can also download the apk file of WhatsApp from and then install it.

A report by Techook says that Xiaomi has acknowledged that the issue was due to a fault of a faulty beta version of the app on their proprietary app store.

So, if you are facing the problem on your Xiaomi device, all you need to do is, first uninstall the existing WhatsApp.
