White House Doctor Says Trump Is In 'Excellent' Physical, Cognitive Health

White House Doctor Says Trump Is In 'Excellent' Physical, Cognitive Health

He went on to describe Trump as "very sharp" and "very articulate when he speaks to me".

The doctor says he's found "no reason whatsoever" to think the president has any issues with his thought process.

"There's no indication whatsoever that he has any cognitive issues", Jackson told reporters at a White House press briefing.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Jackson listed a variety of tests that indicate "the president's overall health is excellent".

Dr Jackson revealed last week that the check-up at the Walter Reed military hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, had gone "exceptionally well", and that he was "enthusiastic" about sharing further details.

Based on the clinical information he has on Trump and his year of observing the president, Jackson said: "I feel very confident that he has a very strong and a very probable possibility of making it completely through his presidency with no medical issues".

On Air Force One, for instance, Jackson says he's watched Trump eat the meals that everyone else does on the plane, and they tend to be on the healthier side, with the exception of the desserts.

He also gave physicals to President Barack Obama and will now examine President Donald Trump. He passed a battery of heart exams including a stress test that Jackson said showed an above-average exercise capacity for a man of his age, despite some calcium buildup in his arteries.

Jackson said Trump has avoided some big heart risks - he's never smoked and isn't diabetic - and has no family history of heart problems. Trump had appeared more interested in managing his diet than increasing his exercise, the doctor said.

Trump took office at age 70, making him the oldest incoming USA president.

Trump is in "very, very good health", Jackson said Tuesday.

That's according to his White House physician, Navy doctor Ronny Jackson.

Jackson said that Trump, who weighs 239 pounds and stands six-feet-three-inches tall, "would like to lose". The President's total cholesterol was 223.

Trump was 70 when he took office, making him the oldest person ever elected to the nation's highest office.

What the presidential physician who is treating Trump now may lack in colorful comments, he makes up for with a stacked resume.

Trump's scheduled annual physical was Friday, a week after publication of Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, in which author Michael Wolff portrayed the president as intellectually and emotionally unfit for the presidency.

More than a dozen top White House officials will attend a series of events on Tuesday that the Trump administration is billing as a "conversation with Women of America".
