Disappearance of CDC employee prompts $10G reward offer

Disappearance of CDC employee prompts $10G reward offer

Timothy Cunningham, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention employee, was last seen 11 days ago when he left work.

Dr. Cunningham's friends and family have been searching since he disappeared, canvassing his neighborhood, distributing flyers, and using social media networks, his close friend David Calloway told NBC News. The Harvard graduate was an essential part of finding solutions to public health emergencies, including Zika and Ebola. Due to his lack of response to their communication efforts, Cunningham's parents drove from Maryland to his house in Atlanta, where they found two open windows. They say he spoke to his sister almost everyday, but she hasn't heard from him since the morning of February 12. According to the Atlanta Police Department, he hasn't been heard from since.

Anterio Cunningham is convinced his brother wouldn't just walk away from a great job at the CDC, a lovely home and the dog he so dearly loves. In a statement, the CDC called Cunningham "a highly respected member of our CDC family".

"It's not the type of news you want to hear", his father, Terrell Cunningham, said, reported WSB. "Thirty-five years old, but always your child".

Anterio Cunningham, Timothy's brother, said he couldn't see his brother leaving behind his job or valuables.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or the Atlanta Police Homicide/Adult Missing Persons Unit at 404-546-4235.

Cunningham is described as a 6-foot tall black man with brown eyes and black hair.
