Jonathan Martin is Crying for Help

Martin had kept mostly out of the spotlight prior to this Instagram post, which shut down his former high school amid tense times. Earlier on Friday, an LAPD spokesman said the post that triggered the closure did not make a "direct threat" against the school.

The person in question was not identified and no current students were at risk, police said.

Though he wasn't arrested, police detained Martin soon after for questioning.

Martin allegedly tagged the Instagram accounts of former Dolphins teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey - whom he accused of bullying him in 2013.

A source who had access to the picture said: "This seems like a joke gone horribly terrible wrong".

A second-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2012, Martin became the face of bullying in the National Football League after an investigation found a "pattern of harassment" by Incognito and Pouncey.

Martin retired from the National Football League in 2015 following a back injury, after stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers. Martin never played a down with the Panthers.

Martin was at the center of the National Football League bullying scandal when he was a member of the Miami Dolphins.

He ultimately quit the team and debated giving up on his career, feeling such psychological duress that he said he twice considered committing suicide. Incognito was eventually suspended.

A few hours later, a number of Twitter users posted photos of an Instagram story that was reportedly posted under the account of Martin in the past 24 hours. He also tagged James Dunleavy, who attended Harvard-Westlake and was a walk-on basketball player at USC.

Harvard-Westlake students received a message through the school's Emergency Notificiation System at 7:14 a.m. Friday morning, and police reported to the campus around the same time.
