Teen girl accused of planning armed robbery of friend in Texas

Once at the house, the quick-thinking dad ran inside, locked the door and called 911, cops said. The 15-year-old suspect ordered Barry into the back seat of the vehicle where the 16-year-old suspect waved a knife and ordered the victim to be tied up with Mize's shoelaces.

Police, however, still took two people into custody - the 16-year-old boy and Mize, the Montgomery County Police Reporter said.

The suspects robbed Barry of the money in his wallet, while striking him numerous times and threatening his life with the knife and gun, Mize said. Cops say the two men then got into the vehicle and forced the teen's father to drive to the Mize family home to get more money.

"Susan believed Preston was an easy target and the plan was for the males to rob him for the money in his wallet", the sheriff's office said. Instead, deputies said Barry was ambushed by two teens, who are also facing charges after they allegedly took him for a scary ride.

Mize, a Spring resident, was arrested on one count of aggravated robbery and booked into the Montgomery County jail. The 16-year-old suspect accompanied Barry into the store.

According to a report via the Montgomery County Police Reporter, Mize was the mastermind behind a plot to to carjack her dad that almost worked save for her quick thinking father. The report adds that Mize's friends were actually planning to rob Barry.

Mize faces aggravated robbery charges, KPRC-TV said.

Montgomery County deputies who questioned Mize about the incident said she eventually admitted that she had been lying and that she had helped set up the robbery. Police recovered two BB guns from the scene. According to deputies, Mize had set up Barry to be robbed by the suspects.

Her profile says she's signed to Explosion Model Management, though she isn't listed on their website's roster of models. It came as a shock to me when I found out what had happened because she seemed like the sweetest girl.

Deputies were dispatched to the H-E-B in the 3500 block of Rayford Road around 11:30 p.m.in reference to a robbery.

In an early article on Mize's case, a now-deleted NBC Houston post referred to Mize as having a "promising future as a model". Mize competes on the school's track team.
