Terrorists attack Army camp in J&K's Sunjwan, one soldier injured

A JCO and a girl were among the three injured in a terrorist strike at an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir.

Intelligence inputs had warned an attack on the army or security establishment by Jaish-e-Mohammed in view of the death anniversary of Afsal Guru who was hanged on February 9, 2013.

The camp is located on the outskirts of the city of Jammu.

The security forces have cordoned off the area around Sunjawan Army camp after shots were heard. Terrorists had hurled a grenade at the camp which houses a unit of the Rashtriya Rifles.

Jammu's Inspector General of Police SD Singh Jamwal said suspicious movement was noticed at around 4.55 am on Saturday. No. of militants isn't known, they've been cornered in one of the family quarters. The following terror attack has left 2 people injured, one Hawaldar and other his daughter, he added. Soon after the attack took place the Indian Army jawans retaliated with heavy gunfire.

"A group of four to five terrorists is believed to have barged into the military station", official sources said.
