Bollywood Singer Aditya Narayan Arrested For Rash Driving

The Indian Express newspaper's website reported that the auto driver has been admitted in the intensive care unit of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital while his passenger, a woman, suffered a broken leg. Senior Police Inspector Kiran Kale of Versova police station confirmed that an FIR under Section 279 (rash driving on a public way) and 338 (grievous hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others), and under the MV Act, had been registered in the matter. According to preliminary information, the accident took place when Narayan was taking a u-turn and misjudged the traffic. A police official said that due to the crash, the autorickshaw keeled over, injuring the passenger, identified as Surekha Ankush Shivekar, 32.

Narayan did not try to escape from the spot and took the injured to the hospital.

Aditya's Mercedes Benz rammed into the auto-rickshaw from behind in front of the Indralok Building, Lokhandwala Back Road in Andheri West, the official said. Aditya was sent for a medical test and reports are awaited. Investigators are also scrutinising CCTV footage from the accident site. Reports also have it that police officials did enquire on the matter at Andheri where locals asserted that the man who was driving got out of the vehicle to help the victims.

However, Aditya Narayan has been granted bail and charged a fine of Rs 10,000.

IndiGo came out with its version after a video emerged showing Narayan engaged in an argument with its staff members at Raipur airport.

He said he will not pay more than 10000 INR for the excess baggage and also used unparliamentary language with the female staff member.
