Charlie Watts: It wouldn't bother me if Rolling Stones split

Charlie Watts: It wouldn't bother me if Rolling Stones split

The Rolling Stones are defying recent history by NOT announcing a farewell tour after more than 2,000 shows.

That means the first slice belongs to Richards and no one else can break the crust.

The tour begins on May 17 in Dublin's Croke Park stadium before coming to the London Stadium on May 22.

The Rolling Stones have announced they will perform their first tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland in 12 years, proving to fans who have been desperate to see them play live again that they can sometimes get what they want.

This week The Wall Street Journal magazine quoted Richards as saying: "It's time for the snip - you can't be a father at that age".

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts will be giving audiences a lot of Satisfaction at both Twickenham Stadium and London Stadium on the United Kingdom leg of their European tour.

The band last played in the United Kingdom five years ago with one-off shows at Glastonbury and the BST festival in Hyde Park - the first time they had played in the London park since the free concert they performed in 1969, two days after the death of Brian Jones.

The last time the "Paint It Black" stars were on United Kingdom waters was for their iconic performance on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2013.

There will also be shows in Berlin, Marseille, Stuttgart, Prague and Warsaw.

Having said that, Watts admits, "I don't know what I would do if I stopped". It may be the last chance for fans to see Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Tumbling Dice, Brown Sugar and other classic and historic tracks performed live by the original band.

Reselling concert tickets for more than face value is not against the law in Britain. We don't work like we used to fortunately. "We are getting to that elderly period so it's a good thing not to".
