Cyberpunk 2077 Will Likely Be at E3 2018, Won't Launch With Multiplayer

"Well actually, we're considering everything and anything", he said.

Regarding platforms, the team is aiming for powerful technology, such as the latest consoles and high-end PCs, as the game is "very advanced".

The most interesting answer came when he was asked if Cyberpunk 2077 will be a cross-generational game, releasing on next-gen and current-gen consoles. "Our technology is ready to interface with future generations", Kiciński said. According to CD Projekt RED, the title will be a cross-gen effort and is going to be showcased at E3 2018.

Talking about gameplay, there will be an in-game character creation tool we'll need to pass through before starting the story; thanks to that tool we'll also be able to choose a class of ours, as it was in the original tabletop game. This is quite the departure from the studio's The Witcher games, as players have always played as the pre-made Geralt of Rivia instead of making their own character from scratch.

Unsurprisingly, Kiciński reiterated that the game, much like other CD Projekt titles, will feature no microtransactions and that the title will be "a single-player game purchased for a one-off fee".

He continued: "As for multiplayer, first of all we're going to deliver the players a huge story-driven role-playing game for a single-player, as was the case with The Witcher 3".

"As to further extension of the game, I don't like to comment on that, but I won't say that's [it won't have multiplayer] - we said in the past we want our future projects to integrate online components", Kiciński explained.

In terms of a certain futuristic RPG by CDPR, the workload and resource consumption of Cyberpunk 2077 now remains the team's largest ongoing project.

Ultimately, Kiciński has unveiled that the team is looking at the new hybrid console of Nintendo Switch with great interest, and even if there is no collaboration for now, in the future the speech will change.
