Daniel Bryan is returning to the WWE ring

WWE superstar and Aberdeen native Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to return to professional wrestling, after two years of retirement. Dealing with an unknown injury, Styles was kept off the SmackDown live events last weekend, and just briefly made an appearance at the Madison Square Garden show.

He's never officially said he's going to retire - it's just been assumed by fans and WWE commentators - so who knows, a win over Cena would maybe even stir him to stay in the ring a little longer. After approaching WWE's medical staff to see what he could do to get cleared, they referred him to several specialists across the country to go see and be evaluated. And fans are giddy at the prospect of seeing one of their favorites get back in the ring and do what he loves. Neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Cantu is a leading expert in concussions who consults with teams across the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL). He has his own concussion treatment center at the Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts.

Hogan's historic body of work while competing in the WWE has been brought up more within the company during airings of classic WrestleMania moments.

"Included in his medical records were multiple evaluations by renowned concussion clinicians", Cantu told Newsweek's Tufayel Ahmed.

"I determined that Bryan is now asymptomatic, has a normal detailed neurological and cognitive neuropsychological examination, normal EEG, and an MRI that showed no definite evidence of a prior brain injury".

PWInsider also noted that Hogan could potentially reprise his role as WWE Ambassador, rather than an on-air performer. Currently, the most definitive diagnosis of CTE is during an autopsy of the brain after death. But symptoms can be found in the living, including depression, aggressive behavior and dementia.
