Dawson's Creek Cast Reunites in 20th Anniversary Photos

Michelle Williams (Jen), and Joshua Jackson (Pacey), along with others from the cast sat down on March 12 to do the interview and photo shoot looking back on the teen drama that aired from 1998 to 2003.

Also joining the original four residents from the fictional town, Capeside, Massachusetts, were cast members Busy Phillips, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Mary Beth Pail.

The stars of the beloved '90s coming-of-age series reunite for the new Entertainment Weeklycover story, which is being released a few months after the 20th anniversary of the show's premiere.

"I think we've all sort of seen each other over the years, but not everybody all together", Katie told EW of the reunion.

"Riverdale" exec producer Greg Berlanti, who launched his career on "Dawson's Creek", explains his take on the show's enduring popularity. This girl came up to James and said, 'Excuse me, aren't you that guy on Dawson's Creek? "And never for long enough". "I remember thinking everybody was fantastic, the actors were perfectly cast, thinking, 'Wow, this is great.' But I think it would have been weird to have any expectation that it would blow up in the way it did". Dawson (Van Der Beek) is a budding director who finally gets to meet his lifelong idol, Steven Spielberg. When something affects you while you were growing up, it kind of stays in there forever.

Joshua Jackson - who played Pacey Witter - meanwhile praised creator Kevin Williamson for creating characters who hadn't been "dumbed down" for the sake of television stereotypes. "I think if people want a ideal snapshot of what it was like to come of age in the "90s and be a young person in that moment, 'Dawson's" will always be a time capsule of that". Katie Holmes added, "What I love about this show is that it existed at a time pre-social media, pre-internet, and it was nostalgic when we were shooting it".
