Deezer Now Works With Amazon Alexa

Countless reports have surfaced on social media recently of Alexa randomly laughing for no apparent reason.

It may sound like the beginning of an apocalyptic science fiction film, but Amazon Echo owners are reportedly terrified after the devices started laughing without being prompted.

"We're aware of this and working to fix it", Amazon told Business Insider in a statement.

But in scenes suitable for a dystopian-future thriller, Alexa has been uttering creepy laughs, apparently of her own volition - a problem Amazon admits is real and says it is probing.

Another wrote on Twitter: "Having an office conversation about pretty confidential stuff and Alexa just laughed".

For now, more and more users say they're sleeping with one eye open next to their Alexa-enabled devices.

Amazon has 18.4% market share, Google has 18.4%, and the remaining 9.7% goes to Alexa, Google Assistant, and Cortana-powered speakers that are made by other companies.

Another user reported a similar issue on Twitter, saying: "I live alone and have lights controlled by Amazon Echo".

As if that wasn't freaky enough, Amazon also has a "Laugh Box" skill, which lets users play different types of laughter, such as a "baby laugh" or a 'sinister laugh'. This was happening even without instructing Alexa, the voice assistant that's built-into the Echo, to wake up.

Buzzfeed states that Amazon has not responded to questions about the error.
