Holy Week services in Central New York

24th, will hold services on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

On Easter Sunday, Lake Church will hold its first sunrise service at its new location - White Lake Christian Camp and Retreat Center.

Services begin with Palm Sunday worship at 9 a.m. Sunday, followed by Holy Week services.

Parishioners will be given palm branches as they enter the cathedral on Sunday. This service begins with the procession from the parish hall into the church commemorating Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

On Thursday, March 29, Grace church members will join the members of First Congregational church for a supper and worship service at First Congregational Church (UCC), 161 W. Broadway. The senior choir will provide special music. The event also marks the start of holy week and the historical day in the Christian faith that celebrates the return of Jesus to Jerusalem. This service is a powerful experience of relating Christ's suffering with our own, as we retrace his steps and witness on that fateful Friday.

Good Friday (March 30) and Easter morning (April 1) will be celebrated by many.

The service begins at 11 a.m.

Sunday, the church will celebrate Passion/Palm Sunday. Holy Week is the most solemn week of the entire year.

A Seder dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, both at Good Hope.

Friday, March 30, 7 p.m.: Stations of the Cross in St. John's Church, an enduring liturgy remembering Jesus' bearing his cross, and ours, toward crucifixion. English and 7 p.m.

St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1501 Belmont, will hold Easter services as follows: Holy Thursday, March 29, 5:30 p.m.

Augusta Presbyterian will hold its Good Friday service at 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 31, 7 p.m.: The Great Vigil of Easter, a dramatic service, including the first proclamation of Easter as light confounds the darkness.

Ministerial Alliance services culminate in a sunrise service at Franklin Chapel AME Zion Church at 6 a.m., and Rev. Vermel Taylor will deliver the Easter message.
