Isaiah Thomas gets his first start with Lakers

Kuzma is in his groove (but hurt) Kyle Kuzma is arguably the most flammable scorer on the Lakers, and he made his case for that title in Tuesday's win over Denver by dropping 16 of his 23 points in the third quarter alone. Their record against the spread is 4-3, with an average pre-game line of 1.6 and an average 7.6 against the spread.

Much was made of the Jamal Murray-Lonzo Ball matchup ahead of Tuesday night's game and deservedly so. The Lakers had 14 offensive rebounds and 51 total rebounds, while the Cavaliers had seven and 37, respectively. He now has double-digit boards in three of his last four games.

Kuzma sprained his right ankle in the final seconds of the third quarter and left the game to get it re-taped. He was able to tough his way into playing the fourth, but is questionable to suit up in Oakland.

During their last five games, the Lakers have scored an average of 114.0 points per game (5.3 above their season average) and allowed an average of 113.0 points per game (2.8 above their season average).

Thomas' 3-pointer trimmed Denver's advantage to 84-83 with 9:45 to go.

Instead, the Nuggets coach focused on the stretch in which things first unraveled for his team, allowing a double-digit lead to dwindle to five points. Golden State hadn't swept a season series from its California rival since Chris Webber was a rookie in 1994. That might be the reason why Thomas reacted the way he did after he crossed up Nikola Jokic late in the game.

Durant is clearly one of the league's top two-way players and the biggest obstacle to a Lakers win.

Unfortunately, the Lakers didn't have enough to knock off the Warriors. He was quickly fouled by Randle and Lakers forward Brandon Ingram, and Murray and Randle exchanged words.

Despite rolling his ankle earlier in the game, a hobbled Kuzma poured in bucket-after-bucket on defensive stalwart Paul Millsap. They are getting the Warriors at a good time too as Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green will all be out for the contest.
