Madhuri Dixit replaces Sridevi in Abhishek Varman's film, confirms Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi shared a picture of her mother with Madhuri on her Instagram page and wrote, "Abhishek Varman's next film was very close to mom's heart.Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this handsome film".

Reportedly, this film has an ensemble cast featuring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha.

But it wasn't meant to be.

The star kid shared a photo of Sridevi and Madhuri with a caption stating, "Abhishek Varman's next film was very close to mom's heart.Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this lovely film". Sridevi was one of the best female actor ever and Abhishek had written the script keeping her in mind but Madhuri's superior acting skills is no less than anybody to pull off the role.

Back in the 80s and 90s, the two actress were pitted against each other. Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit were constantly being compared. Sridevi was operating on her second innings which started in 2012 with the brilliant "English Vinglish" and her last film was "Mom" in 2017.

Her upcoming movie Shiddat, which was being produced by Karan Johar, was also delayed with the diva's untimely death. However, before her first film releases, Janhvi's mother-actress Sridevi died in tragic accident.

In one of his earlier interviews, KJo had said, "I have wanted to do a movie with her for the longest time". Now the filmmaker wants to make a film on Sridevi's life and cast Vidya Balan in the lead.
