Nintendo Switch Version 5.0 Brings New User Icons and More

In order to use some of these features, you will need to update the Nintendo Switch system version to 5.0.0 or later. While the patch notes don't confirm a release date for the system update, I can't imagine Nintendo releasing a parental controls update that advertises new features too long before those features are functional.

The Switch Parental Controls app - allowing users to access Parental Controls for their console - has been updated to v1.5 on iOS (and presumably soon to Android). To ensure privacy, the default way to enter your PIN for Parental Controls has also been changed, with the control stick now serving as the default method, rather than the on-screen keypad. Captured videos in your Album are now restricted based on your Restricted Software settings and Software Rating Organization, and the ability to add certain games to your "whitelist" so your Restricted Software settings don't apply has also been added. When a bedtime alarm is set, play will be restricted from the set time until 06:00 the following day.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller grip colors will now display in the Controllers menu.

If the speculations are right then Nintendo might be preparing to roll out Nintendo Switch firmware Update 5.0.0 in near future.

Once the download is complete, you'll be asked if you'd like to install the update.
