Besides BJP's prominent victor Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, others who made it to the Upper House of Parliament from the party are Ashok Bajpai, Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, Sakal Deep Rajbhar, Kanta Kardam, Anil Jain, Harnath Singh Yadav, GVL Narasimha Rao and ninth candidate Anil Kumar Agarwal, who pulled off a surpise win with the help of second preference votes. Modi added that BJP will win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but MPs must win the heart of the party workers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah on Friday asked party MPs to reach out to masses and counter the Opposition charges on the impasse in Parliament.

Attacking Mr Modi, Mr Gandhi said "when India looks at its Prime Minister, it wants to hear the truth and not speeches filled with hate". A party insider said Dalit leader and North West Delhi MP Udit Raj raised the issue of a two-judge bench of the Supreme Court watering down the stringent provisions incorporated in the Act meant to prevent atrocities to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes following its reported misuse. Tomar announced that BJP would organise several programmes from April 14 to May 5 to highlight various schemes of the Modi government. "We are not a party that runs out of someone's home (a possible reference to the Congress party and 10 Janpath, the residence of former party president Sonia Gandhi)", said Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar after the almost four-hour meeting. "Mr. Shah also stressed that booth level strengthening of the organisation has to continue as it continues to be our strength and has been a factor in the last 10 elections that we have won", said Mr. Javadekar.

Javadekar said more than the pep talk, the Prime Minister interacted with the MPs and exchanged views. Modi said that BJP did not operate from any leader's residence but from its headquarters and state and district offices.
