The Big Bang Theory casts Jerry O'Connell as Sheldon's brother

Actor Jerry O'Connell has officially been tapped to play Sheldon's brother, Georgie.

Big Bang Theory fans can see Jerry O'Connell in the role of Sheldon's brother when the show airs its season finale on CBS this spring.

Joining his castmates, Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper on the show paid tribute to another former guest star, Stephen Hawking, who died last week.

O'Connell, for his part, counts Burning Love, Crossing Jordan and CBS' The Defenders among his TV credits.

The Season 11 finale is said to feature the wedding of Sheldon and Amy.

During the panel, the producers also revealed that the big wedding will be preceded by unconventional bachelor and backelorette parties, with Kaley Cuoco teasing that: "They don't go the way you think they would go".
