The Florida Gators had barely been announced into the bracket in the NCAA Tournament before one analyst on the selection show already eliminated them. Arizona State defeated UCLA 88-79.

SU earned a No. 11 seed in college basketball's premier event. They burst onto the scene with a 102-86 win on a neutral court over then-No.15 Xavier to move to 6-0.

With back-to-back tournament appearances, the 'Noles have now made the "Big Dance" in six of the last 10 seasons. Earlier regular season victories over highly-regarded teams such as North Carolina and Florida proved to be the quality wins that impressed the committee.

Just more than two weeks later, ASU upset No. 2 Kansas on the Jayhawks' homecourt, 95-85.

The Gators are 42-16 all-time in NCAA Tournament history and have advanced to the Elite Eight in five consecutive appearances (2011-14, '17), including White's first appearance with the Gators last season. As a team, St. Bonaventure is scoring 77.9 points per game on 45.6% shooting from the field, 39.8% from behind the 3-point line and 75.4% from the foul line this season.

Questioning Arizona State's participation in the tournament a mere three months ago would have been scoffed at.
