Ahead Of Comey's Media Blitz, Trump Lashes Out Again

Ahead Of Comey's Media Blitz, Trump Lashes Out Again

President Donald Trump hurled a new set of insults at James Comey on Sunday, challenging accusations the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director makes in a tell-all book that is due for release this week, and insisting that he never pressed Comey to be loyal to him.

President Donald Trump is again calling former FBI Director James Comey a "slimeball" ahead of the publication of his new book. Leaked excerpts have detailed Comey's mistrust of Trump, whom he describes as "ego driven" and "untethered to the truth".

Donald Trump has slammed James Comey's claims as "slippery".

In his press tour, Comey is sure to be asked to weigh in on Trump and the various twists and turns in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election as well as any potential links between Russia and Trump campaign associates.

"I hope not because I think impeaching and removing Donald Trump from office would let the American people off the hook and have something happen indirectly that I believe they're duty bound to do directly", he said.

Comey's interview aired Sunday as he continues to promote his new book, "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership". "But I was determined there's not going to be a hug, because I'm not a master of television but I knew that would be a real problem". So I was now as far away as physically possible, without going out the window, from the president.

After his time working with the president, Comey says he believes Trump is unfit for his job.

He said Mr Comey was lying and is not smart.

Comey detail about a "dossier" containing raw intelligence on Trump's connections with Russians. Just another of his many lies. It was the subject of his first meeting with Trump shortly after the election in which Russian meddling in the USA presidential election was discussed.

Comey said he doesn't "buy" into speculation that Trump is "medically unfit" to be president, but rather condemned the president's ethics largely due to his handling of Charlottesville and, as Comey put it, his treatment of women "like they're pieces of meat".

In the interview excerpt released Saturday, Comey said he did not remember "consciously thinking" about the election results as he made a decision to disclose that the FBI had reopened its investigation into candidate Clinton's email use.

After he finished talking to the employees and saying goodbye, Comey said he went into a room to find out whether he had been ousted, "because I did not expect to be fired". But he said Trump's moral qualifications were lacking. She also said that Comey never raised any concerns with her regarding the email investigation.

"People in this country need to stand up and go to the voting booth and vote their values", he said. "Come with me, and sit there with me", he said. I'm leading the investigation of Russian influence-in particular, whether anyone in the Trump orbit had coordinated and conspired with the Russians.

Trump attacked him on Twitter. I'm not trying to, by the way, suggest that President Trump is out breaking legs and-you know, shaking down shopkeepers.

"I'm not an unusually strong person but I work out and so I tighten my abs and my core and I'm thinking, 'Unless he's a lot stronger than he looks, he's not getting a hug.' And so he pulls and he doesn't get the hug", Comey said.

Trump has said he fired Comey because of his handling of the FBI's investigation into Clinton's email practices. His "memos" are self serving and FAKE!'
