Apple is working on touch-less controls and curved screens for iPhone

As for Apple's curved screen iPhone, it would have a curve that ran from top to bottom. The report said that the iPhone display Apple is now developing detects finger gestures even without physically touching the screen.

In a world with so many smartphone manufacturers constantly competing with each other for a share of the market, innovation is a key factor and Apple is attempting to be at the forefront of innovation once again.

Apple's always been said to be working on new technologies to build into its lineup of iPhones, and today's report out of Bloomberg corroborates these rumors. So, we can say that we cannot see this technology in near future.

Rival Samsung has already produced a similar device - its new Galaxy S9 smartphone curves down at the left and right edges.

And it seems that the success of Face ID has prompted Apple to begin working on ways to use your phone without touching it at all.

The report specifically cites that Apple is testing an iPhone display capable of detecting gestures from finger movements without actually touching the display. Flagship Samsung Galaxy S phones have had curved screen sides for years now, though the Bloomberg report indicates Apple's curved iPhone display would "curve inward gradually from top to bottom". MicroLEDs can potentially let the company make slimmer smartphones with brighter and less power consuming screens. Apple's latest iPhones have a feature called 3D Touch that responds differently depending on different finger pressures. The company is also working on launching a lower-cost LCD model of iPhone.

Apple is also developing a curved screen. Since both the features are still in the early research and development stage, there are chances that Apple could still decide not to go forward with the improvements. Even if Apple is building such a phone, it's still a few years away and it might not look like Hajek's concept renders. A larger 6.5-inch iPhone will carry an OLED display. For what it's worth, Apple Pay is one of the best features of iOS and the iPhone.

The feature shares similarities with the Air Gestures capability that Samsung Electronics Co. After all, Apple's said to be sourcing most of its OLED technology from the South Korean giant anyway.
