Apple Seeds iOS 11.4 Beta 1 to Registered Developers

Apple must have felt that the features weren't ready, however, and pulled the plug on the features for iOS 11.3 - a decision that falls in line with their new approach to development and software maintenance.

Apple is reportedly in the early stages of developing two features for future iPhones: touchless gesture controls and curved screens. A curved iPhone may be as little as two to three years away, the person said.

Bloomberg also reinforces rumors that Apple is planning on releasing another iPhone with the iPhone X's OLED display later this year. A recent report from DigiTimes said that the microLED panel could enter production this year or next.

Like many companies, Apple has long held their developers to strict standards - both in quality and, more pressingly, time. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment.

Gurman, who's renowned for Apple scoops, compared the touchless control feature to Samsung's Air Gestures function for Android - which lets users answer calls and browse web pages by waving their hand across their handset. The feature would be based on technology built into the display itself rather than via a motion sensor on the phone's bezel, like with Samsung's implementation, the person explained. Apple's approach will apparently require the gestures to be closer to the screen than the search giant's.
