BJP's power play: Stage set for 2019 elections, says Amit Shah

Shah was addressing the party cadre at BKC on the occasion of BJP's 38th foundation day.

Lok Sabha elections is scheduled to take place in the nation in 2019. I have a heard a saying that when everything is washed away in a flood, only a Vat Vriksha (Banyan tree) stands tall. As the opposition raised a hue and cry, Shah later clarified at a press conference that what he meant was that political parties, having no ideological similarities, were coming together out of fear of Modi. "The indecent and undemocratic language used by BJP president Amit Shah during the Mumbai meeting is condemnable", Mayawati said in a statement here. Rahul Baba says the SC/ST act is being demolished. Mocking the Congress president, Shah said, "When we lost two Lok Sabha seats (in UP) recently, Rahul baba distributed candies". The Congress lost its deposits in both the polls. "He (Rahul) is the first leader I have seen who distributed candies after his party forfeited deposit in the polls". This was also important as one of Maharashtra's neighbouring states is Karnataka, where an election campaign is going on.

"During Congress rule, Pakistani terrorist would often kill our people and even beheaded our soldiers, but the government could do nothing".

Talking about the protests made by the AIADMK over constitution of Cauvery River Water Management Board in the Lok Sabha, Sawant said that the Speaker did not use any type of strong words or rebuke the demonstrating lawmakers from Tamil Nadu.

Shah also addressed the issue of farmer compensation. "Even if you try to annul reservations, we will not let you do it". He accused the Opposition of not allowing the Budget session of the Parliament to function in an orderly manner. "They can not imagine that when we got the opportunity to elect a Deputy Speaker, we selected Shri Suraj Bhan, who belonged to the Dalit community and later Shri Karia Munda, who is a tribal leader".

"You decide the venue, I am ready for a debate". However, after this, Shah said that the golden period of the BJP is yet to come.

Continuing his attack Shah reminded Gandhi about BJP wresting power from it 11 states since 2014. "Now being in the government, we should work towards those solutions". From Maharashtra to Haryana from Jharkhand to Manipur, Assam and Uttarakhand, BJP is everywhere.

Earlier, expressing confidence about the BJP-led NDA's return to power in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Shah said, "Today, Modi is the most popular leader in the world".
