Curry targeting return in Western Conference semis

Curry targeting return in Western Conference semis

Stephen Curry will miss the first round of the National Basketball Association playoffs, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Sunday.

The Raptors have lost eight of 10 playoff games in the past two years to Cleveland, including a second-round sweep last season.

Stephen Curry, sidelined since March 23, suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his first game back from an ankle injury and is progressing on schedule in his rehab from the injury.

Curry is scheduled to be re-evaluated Saturday yet Kerr noted that "he's not close to playing". Meanwhile, the Warriors have had to prepare without Stephen Curry.

Considering the lack of focus his team has played with lately, Kerr said he's especially glad his team is facing the disciplined Spurs in the first round and that he expects his team's focus will be "great". "They'll get their guys back and they have enough guys I think they can survive until they get everybody back".

The Golden State Warriors begin their title defense Saturday afternoon when they face the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

With the scores being locked on numerous occasions during the game, the contest was destined to go either way and with the game being tied at 71-71 yet again with less than a minute to play, Warriors broke the deadlock through Headley and played a good defensive game to ensure they captured the six-point contest.

During the Thunder's game against Memphis on Wednesday, Davis said point guard Russell Westbrook was "out of his cotton-pickin' mind" after Westbrook tallied an assist en route to averaging a triple-double for the second consecutive season. This is a different year, a different situation, and, as Curry said, a different team - one with more experience, and with Kevin Durant.

"I'm not sure how to explain it well", Morey said. The Warriors are clearly the better team and should be able to overpower the Spurs.

For one, the Spurs haven't really been the Spurs this season, dropping to the seventh seed out west, and with 47 victories snapping their phenomenal streak of 18 years with at least 50 wins. He'll be relied on against a triple-scoring punch of Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. This team has fought and put ourselves in a position to be here.

The Golden State Warriors struggled without star point guard Steph Curry in the lineup in the latter portion of the regular season, dropping three of their last four games.

Last offseason, Durant inked a discounted two-year, $51 million deal that included an opt-out clause. Personally, I follow every sport religiously and my life revolves around sports. "Everyone got better, so it was a whole new year".

Option A: He can sign a two-year deal with a 2019-20 player option in which the first-year earnings would be $30 million and the option year worth $31.5 million. There was never anything easy given to me - it was always this question, that question, and overcoming those odds.

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Warriors are an 8-point favorite on the spread line. We all know that. The same player who had been unwilling or unable to take a step up when needed in last year's playoffs, and who had had similarly absent stretches in his postseason play before, was very much present, willing and able to step up this time. Vegas has been spot on when setting the O/U total of Warriors games, with an even split between overs and unders.

"They feed off that, because a bad turnover, even offensive rebounds for them, turns into open threes", Ginobili said.
