Ed Sheeran In Talks For Danny Boyle's Music-Themed Movie

According to the Daily Mail, the pop singer is in talks to appear in an upcoming film tentatively titled All You Need Is Love.

Sheeran is also friends with director Curtis, whose previous films include Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral, and his partner Emma Freud. He'll reportedly appear on screen and write new music for the movie, which will also feature Beatles songs.

"Everything Ed touches turns to gold", a source told the Mail Online. He is the biggest hit-maker on the planet.

Lily James ("Cinderella", "Baby Driver") is attached to star, alongside Himesh Patel ("Eastenders"). "If anyone can make a film about the Beatles songs even better musically, it's him'". Saturday Night Live standout Kate McKinnon is in talks with filming due to take place this summer. They said the plot was being kept under wraps, and they didn't know if Sheeran would contribute to the score.

Sheeran has made a handful of forays into acting, perhaps most notably through a cameo appearance on Game of Thrones that ended up being one of the more widely derided moments in a mostly well-regarded season.

The film is being backed by Universal, and will be produced by Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner as well as Curtis and Boyle, who recently confirmed he is writing the script for the next James Bond outing. Although the as-yet-untitled movie is a musical comedy, it's unclear whether Sheeran will be contributing one of his Caribbean-inflected songs to the soundtrack, or whether he'll be exclusively in an on-camera role.
