Federation Internationale de Football Association task force in Rabat to inspect 2026 candidate Morocco

"As we know that SAFA president Danny Jordaan was the CEO of our World Cup bid and that the Moroccan delegation saw it as a need to talk to him and exchange ideas".

Soccer Laduma can reveal that Morocco have turned to South African Football Association President Dr Jordaan in an effort to bolster their bid to host the 2026 World Cup.

Morocco are hoping to stage the 23rd edition of the World Cup, and face competition from a joint bid from Canada, Mexico and the United States of America. "Throughout the week the Bid Committee teams will strive to convey the vision of a humble, passionate, determined bid, but above all a professional and solid one", he added.

Morocco's bid committee said in an statement that the task-force will visit with stadiums as well as several towns involving April 1719, training peaks and buff sites, along with venues.

The task force will use a point-scoring system to evaluate the two candidates. The Football Federation of South Africa has joined the list of the global countries expressing their willingness to vote for the African bid on June 13.

Morocco has made 4 bids to sponsor the championships for 2006, 1998, 1994 and 2010, although it had been close on a few events.

The country was second to the USA for 1994, behind France for 1998 and just lost out to South Africa for the 2010 finals, the only time the event has been held in Africa.

Some of FIFA's national associations have already publicly stated who they would vote for and Morocco received South Africa's backing on Monday. Up to 207 FIFA member federations will vote at their congress on the eve of the World Cup in Russia.

FIFA has 21-1 manhood associations who all hold a vote although FAs can not vote worldcup hosting should they have been part of a bidding or even should they truly are suspended at the time from FIFA.

Federation Internationale de Football Association disallowed countries from Europe and Asia to bid for hosting right to the world cup, with the intention to spread the hosting rights for the World Cup more evenly across the globe - this year's World Cup will be in Russia with the next one in 2022 in Qatar.
