John Stamos welcomes first child with Caitlin McHugh

The "Fuller House" actor and his wife Caitin McHugh have welcomed a son into the world and have named the youngster in honor of the 54-year-old star's beloved late father, Billy.

"From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son", Stamos wrote. "Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father) #notjustanuncleanymore #overjoyed".

John Stamos is no longer just an uncle, having welcomed his first baby with wife Caitlin over the weekend. "Can I come over tomorrow". They announced the pregnancy to People magazine, and explained that while they'd previously discussed starting a family, the timing now felt right and things fell into place.

John, who was previously married to Rebecca Romijn, admitted a year ago he'd always wanted to be a father and felt it would be a "tragedy" if he never had kids.

Stamos married McHugh, 31, on February 3, after dating for two and a half years.

"I'll be a fun dad".

To which Caitlin cheekily responded: "Because you're old".

He said: "She's so lovely pregnant".

She described it as the look of a man who wanted to be a father his whole life but thought the moment had passed.

"From now on, the best part of me will always be you".

"We have the same morals and the same values, that all clicked nicely".

"I don't think John needs any parental advice". I know my parents are smiling down. "People would say, 'You should have a child.' I was like, 'That ship has sailed, '" he admitted at the time.
