Karan Johar honoured to be first Indian filmmaker at Madame Tussauds

While several Indian celebs have their wax statue in the renowned museum, the recent one to join the bandwagon is filmmaker Karan Johar.

According to a report in DNA, fans and visitors often have always wanted to know why his name wasn't added to the statue earlier.

"Karan Johar's talent and career go well beyond just filmmaking which makes him an exciting and entertaining personality for them to add to the many other iconic global wax figures".

Johar announced the news on Twitter with a photo. As of now, the production of this special wax figure is undergoing a complicated combination of traditional sculpting with modern-day technology and will take around six months for the final statue to be ready. The sites of Kalank which went on floors on April 18 was visited by filmmaker David Dhawan. He shared a picture where he is seen posing with producers Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala. A germ of an idea that I had almost 15 years ago.a film that was in a pre production stage helmed by my now proud to pass it onto the extremely capable and visionary hands of our director Abhishek Varman!

Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank has been written by Shibani Bathija.
