Kerala: Newborn's body flushed down the toilet; parents on run

In another shocking incident, a two-day-old newborn was flushed in a toilet of a Clinic in Kerala.

Dr Abdul Rehman, who runs a clinic next to his house in Perinthalmanna town, called the plumbers after his domestic worker noticed the clog and what she believed was muddy water.

The incident occurred in Kerala's Palakkad district. The body of the girl had blocked the toilet bowl. According to the police officials, when the plumbers made an attempt to unclog the pipes, they noticed something that looked like a ball. The baby, investigating officers suspect, was brought into the clinic on the pretext of a consultation and flushed down the toilet.

The cops are working on the "mother delivering the child" theory as the placenta was still attached to the body and there was blood all over. A case of unnatural death was filed on the doctor's complaint, but the parents have not been identified yet. However, as the placenta was intact with the baby, the mother could have delivered her inside the washroom and chose to dump her in the commode, said cops.

"There wasn't much of a foul smell emanating from the toilet", a sub-inspector of the Nattukal Police Station told The NewsMinute.

Abdul Rahman immediately informed the local police which rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

The dead body has now reportedly been moved to the Thrissur medical college for autopsy. The police are verifying all the records of patients who recently visited the clinic, according to the report.
