Moritz Wagner: Will enter National Basketball Association draft with agent

In an essay on The Players' Tribune, the German forward announced he's entering the 2018 National Basketball Association draft and will hire an agent.

While it's not too surprising given how Wagner performed this year, this is still a sad loss for MI.

Moe Wagner helped the Michigan Wolverines reach the 2018 national championship game, and now he's headed to the NBA. He said he will officially sign with an agent, meaning he will not be able to back out of the draft process.

"This wasn't an easy decision for me", he wrote.

Wagner is leaving MI on a high note after reaching the national title game in the NCAA tournament before losing to Villanova.

Wagner is now projected as a late first-round selection. But I'm telling you guys-the idea of leaving MI, of leaving this community, is really tough.

The Pacers hold picks 23 and 50 for the draft, which will take place on Thursday, June 21 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The 20-year-old was named MVP of the Big Ten Tournament after leading the Wolverines to their second straight conference title.
