NBA Playgrounds 2 Hits the Hardwood This Summer

The game will launch with a massive roster of over 200 current and retired National Basketball Association players - including Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan, Damian Lillard, Karl-Anthony Towns, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, Dr. J., Allen Iverson and Larry Bird.

Saber Interactive has announced the summer release of NBA Playgrounds 2, the sequel to last year's hit indie-made NBA title.

The team also developed a new Season Mode for the game. NBA Playgrounds 2 takes street balling to the next level with a host of new additions and improvements, including a new Season Mode and a new Playgrounds Championship ranked mode.

I own the first game on Switch, but with ranked co-op league systems in place for the sequel, I'll have to pick it up on PS4 so my nephew and I can wipe the floor with people around the world.

The first trailer for NBA Playgrounds 2 has been embedded above.

The game is said to be arriving in 2018, but an exact date has not yet been given. You'll play through a proper season with your team and earn your way into the NBA Playoffs. Improved matchmaking with dedicated servers is also planned, with new 4-player online matches and more. Four-player online matches will also be introduced in NBA Playgrounds 2. There are new moves and power-ups to bust out, improved AI, and new player models and animations.
