New Reward Offered for Arrest of Lois Riess; New Surveillance Videos Released

Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose announced Tuesday that the U.S. Marshals have elevated the search for Lois Riess to Major case status, and are now offering a $5,000 reward.

Anyone who has had any recent contact with Lois Riess or who has any information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Tip-line at 1-877-996-6222.

Lois Riess, the 56-year-old rural Blooming Prairie woman who is wanted for murder in both Minnesota and Florida, is seen laughing with one of her alleged victims in a surveillance tape released Monday by law enforcement officials in Florida.

Reiss is considered armed and risky and should not be approached. "She smiles, yet she is a coldblooded killer". Authorities say she may have targeted the woman because they look similar.

It follows earlier video released by the department said to show Riess talking to 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson April 5 at the Smokin' Oyster Brewery in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

CCTV footage shows her at a restaurant with Ms Hutchinson, where Riess is suspected to have been trying to gain her trust before killing her. She is believed to be in the Corpus Christi, [Texas], area.

Florida authorities said late last week that they believed Riess most recently was in the Corpus Christi area in Texas, possibly driving a vehicle she stole from Hutchinson, whose body was found April 9.

Authorities are anxious that when Reiss runs out of resources she might kill again and say she has a history of gambling and addiction problems.

Late last week, Florida authorities filed murder, grand theft of a motor vehicle and grand theft and criminal use of personal identification charges against Riess. She has since been charged with his murder.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida has issued a warrant for Riess' arrest.
