Raiders sign former Eagles DB Daryl Worley

The Oakland Raiders have signed cornerback Daryl Worley just over a week after his release by Philadelphia following an arrest.

The Philadelphia Eagles released Worley on April 15 after he was arrested on DUI and gun charges.

Philadelphia had acquired Worley earlier in the offseason from Carolina in a trade for receiver Torrey Smith.

He allegedly acted combatively toward police officers responding to the scene and needed to be subdued using a taser.

In a bold move, the Raiders have agreed to a deal with Worley, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Worley is a former third-round selection (No. 77 overall) of Carolina's from the 2016 NFL Draft, and he has appeared in 31 contests (25 starts), recording 150 tackles (111 solo), two sacks, three interceptions and 19 passes defensed.

Worley has 25 starts in the National Football League, and has notched three interceptions. Worley is now facing six charges: DUI, firearms not to be carried without a license, carrying firearms in public, possession of an instrument of crime, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct/engaging in fighting.

Last year, Sean Smith and T.J. Carrie were the top corners on this roster, and both are gone heading into 2018.

To make up for those departures, the Raiders have signed free agents Shareece Wright, Rashaan Melvin, Leon Hall, and Senquez Golson.

Oakland is Worley's third team of the offseason.
