Rob Gronkowski to Miss Start of Patriots' Offseason Program

Rob Gronkowski to Miss Start of Patriots' Offseason Program

Rob Gronkowski will not be on hand for the start of the team's offseason program, according to a source. Even though he has been working out at TB12, and getting his body in shape, Gronkowski still has yet to fully commit to playing the 2018 season.

There is no certainty that means that he is leaning toward coming back, but it at least means that the Patriots have been kept abreast of what Gronkowski is going through. The final two years, however, weren't touched.

Gronkowski has a $250,000 workout bonus in his contract for 2018, which is paid out based on attending a percentage of the voluntary workouts. The workouts are voluntary.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick acknowledged on Friday that not all Patriots players would be present on Monday. But they'll reportedly do so without their superstar tight end.

Schefter adds Gronkowski is still considering whether to play in the upcoming National Football League season, but has had "good communication" with New England.

Brady also is not expected to attend the start of the offseason program; he has been on a business trip to Qatar.
