Twitter suffers worldwide outage as users faced with error message

Twitter is down and by the looks of it, the outage is massive this time, spanning major countries around the world.

Popular micro-blogging site Twitter went down for users in India on Tuesday.

"Thanks for noticing-we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon", the site reads, accompanied by a cartoon robot with a broken hand. The micro-blogging site gained instant popularity with its monthly users peaking to as high as 150 million within the next five years.

According to the website Down Detector that tracks a number of web services, the service started facing issues in India at 7:28 PM.

As of 10:15AM ET, outage tracker Downdetector.com shows a spike in twitter outage reports worldwide.

Among the several disruptions which Twitter faced, the most recent outage was reported on January 15, 2016.

The services are now offline for on all platforms including the desktop website, Android, iPad and iPhone apps.
