FIFA Ranking - Nigeria Remains 47th Position, 6th in Africa

Morocco's national football team retained its 42nd spot in the latest FIFA ranking, released on Thursday.

According to the rankings, seven worldwide "A" matches, all friendlies, took place in the month and as a result there are few movers in the latest ranking.

Bafana Bafana stay 15th on the African continent with little movement around them‚ but the upcoming COSAFA Cup tournament in the Limpopo province is an opportunity to score points. The central African nation are ranked 38th in the world.

Nigeria, now sixth in Africa and 47th in the world, are the fifth and final African team to have qualified for the June/July spectacle.

World Cup holders, Germany remain in first position, followed by Brazil, then Belgium, Portugal and Argentina.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 7 June 2018.

Russian Federation selected 11 host cities to be the venues for the matches of the 2018 World Cup and they are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Samara.

The Harambee Stars are yet to break into the top 100 places in 2018 with position 105 - which they occupied in the months of January and March still their best ever rank for the year.
