Selena Gomez Drops "Back to You" From '13 Reasons Why' Soundtrack

Selena Gomez Drops

Selena Gomez dropped her first single of 2018 with the delightfully catchy "Back To You", which appears on the upcoming original soundtrack to the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why (Season 2), coinciding with the season premiere on 18 May.

Selena Gomez is doing well after her split from Justin Bieber - in all aspects of her life.

Though the song is for 13 Reasons Why, Selena shared in a new interview with Zane Lowe that it was more of a personal project than the song she recorded for season 1, "Only You".

She continued, "I want it to be a lovely message in a really complicated way but really fun. But that I think "Back to You" was more of my special project that I wanted to give to season 2". The song, an acoustic guitar-laden, mid-tempo ballad, describes the feeling of wanting someone you shouldn't be with. The "Wolves" singer and Bieber first began dating in 2010. Given how many times the couple has broken up and gotten back together, the single could very well be a self-fulfilling prophecy, but we'll have to wait and see.

"There's no bad blood between her and Justin", the source adds of Gomez and her former boyfriend. And yes, it's just sometimes it's hard, you know. Gomez was spotted kissing The Weeknd in January 2017, and the two continued a romantic relationship for the next 10 months. But Bieber and Gomez were only "on" for a few months, and called it quits yet again in March, this time, reportedly, for good.

"Everybody knows we got unfinished business". "I am finishing up the album but we're also trying to figure out a fun way to take our time".

"You could break my heart in two / But when it heals, it beats for you / I know it's forward but it's true / I wanna hold you when I'm not supposed to", she croons in the song's chorus, per Genius. "Selena rarely even talks about Justin anymore, and is fully open to dating".
