Stan Lee files a $1 billion lawsuit

The legendary Creator of Marvel comics Stan Lee chose to sue his former company POW! The lawsuit, which was filed today with the Los Angeles Superior Court, claims that the company conspired with a pair of its employees to steal his identity.

"Duffy and Champion were incentivised to get a deal between POW! and Camsing done because each of them would benefit financially", claims the suit, and that the pair "never disclosed the actual terms of the deal to Lee before closing it".

According to the lawsuit obtained by CNN, Pow!

The major claim of the case, writes The Hollywood Reporter, is that POW! and two of its leading members stole Lee's identity, name, and likeness, which were fraudulently sold, at one point, to a company in China. Lee founded Pow! in 2001 and sold it past year to Camsing International Holding, a Hong Kong company.

Lee, Champion, and Arthur Liberman formed Pow! Entertainment, a production company that he co-founded in 2001. Both films featured cameos from Lee, who has made a habit of popping in Marvel-related movies since 2000's X-Men.

Lee says previous year Duffy and Champion, along with his ex-business manager Jerardo Olivarez, whom he's now suing for fraud, asked him to sign a non-exclusive license with POW! for the use of his name and likeness in connection with creative works owned by the company.

Duffy and Champion have not responded to CNN's request for comment.

"There is no question Mr". The evidence, which includes Mr.

According to the court documents, Lee had no idea a sale was in the offing.

Controversy has recently swirled around Lee, who sued a former business manager alleging fraud and has spoken out defending his daughter after others around him claimed she was trying to gain control of his assets.

CNN was unsuccessful in attempts to reach Olivarez.

Lee seems intent on regaining control of his life. "Lee's passing", Olivarez said. "I had looked out for him during recent contract negotiations with POW!" he told T.H.R. On Tuesday, he posted a video to fans thanking them for their support, and tweeted: "Help!"

Lee notes how he experienced the death of his wife, as well as vision impairment due to macular degeneration, around the time this deal came into fruition.
