ABC Mulling Keeping 'Roseanne' Show Without Roseanne Barr

Roseanne Barr will not be appearing on the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast Friday as previously planned. ABC canceled the show following Barr's racist comments about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett earlier this week.

But ABC quickly moved to cancel the show. Sanofi U.S., the biopharmaceutical company that makes Ambien, responded to Barr's claim, condemning her excuse. "We have a responsibility to vote in 2018", adding "Who we lift up to represent us speaks volumes about whether we treat each other with compassion and civility - and it's time to demand better". "I begged them not to cancel the show", she tweeted. I'd worked doing publicity4 them 4free for weeks, travelling, thru bronchitis.

Barr reached out to New Jersey-based Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, a longtime spiritual advisor to the Jewish actress, where she was said to have been "sobbing" over the controversy.

Hours after Barr's tweets, President of ABC Entertainment Channing Dungey released a statement announcing that the network was pulling the plug on season 2 of the show. "Will I ever recover from this pain? omg'". Next time just say the tweet was an accident because you're not a human; you're one of those cats you buy in Chinatown that has an arm that goes (up and down repeatedly).

In a Twitter rant Thursday that has since been deleted, the comedian said she pleaded with Disney-ABC Television Group President Ben Sherwood to spare her sitcom's celebrated revival.

According to their sources, Barr gave a rambling mea culpa during the recording of Boteach's podcast one day before she was set to speak to Rogan.

He tweeted at Barr that he could offer her a platform without the networks and executives that fired her. "Let your fans decide", he tweeted.
