The Egyptian team has been based in Chechen Kadyrov seized the opportunity to host the team.

But, according to the report, Salah now feels used by Kadyrov for political gain and does not want to be associated in that way.

The Liverpool star has come under criticism for partaking in a series of photo's with Kadyrov, with the Chechen leader accused of using the Egyptian to improve his government's global image. Former rebel turned Moscow-loyalist Kadyrov now faces accusations of a large variety of human rights violations, including abductions, killings and a widely reported anti-gay pogrom, which he has denied.

"We created at least five good chances on the counter-attack and we had a very good first half in which we took the lead", he said after Monday's 2-1 loss followed defeats to Uruguay and hosts Russian Federation.
