England and Spurs striker Harry Kane reveals Brazilian Ronaldo ambitions

Kane has signed a six-year contract that could earn him £200,000 a week including bonuses, which nearly doubles his previous deal.

Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur and England's Harry Kane has revealed that former Brazil striker Ronaldo was his hero during his formative years.

The announcement comes at a particularly important time for Spurs, who are due to move into their new stadium at White Hart Lane next season.

At first, he was an alternative to Antoine Griezmann, but everything suggested the club's interest doesn't necessarily depend on the arrival of the France forward.

Pavlyuchenko, who played alongside Kane during the early stages of the Englishman's career, says he is extremely pleased with how far the 24-year old has come at Tottenham.

He joins manager Mauricio Pochettino in committing his future to the club and the duo will have their sights on plotting the downfall of numerous defences at home and overseas when 2018-19 rolls around.

Kane has developed into one of the world's finest strikers in north London, and will captain England at the 2018 World Cup after scoring 41 goals in just 48 appearances in all competitions this season.

Despite England's 2-0 victory over Costa Rica, former England global Paul Mariner was not pleased with the team's uninspired performance.

With some help from Opta, we look at how Kane's performances and prolific returns sit alongside with the greats of the game and within Premier League history. "For us as a club, it's just [about] to keep improving, and we will work hard to do that".

Just as Brazil once relied predominantly on Ronaldo upfront, England will be counting on Kane during the upcoming World Cup in Russian Federation.

He is now Tottenham's leading scorer in the Premier League era, surpassing Teddy Sheringham's club record of 97.
