Justice for Junior: Friends, family, neighbors come together to honor slain teen

A seventh suspect, 19-year-old Kevin Alvarez of the Bronx, was arrested in NY and charged him with murder, manslaughter, gang assault and assault.

Information on his lawyer wasn't immediately available. Family and friends told CBS New York it was a tragic case of mistaken identity. According to reports, the suspects believed Guzman-Feliz was the person who made a homemade sex video with one of their family members.

"Someone out there knows these men, all wanted for the brutal murder of 15-yr-old Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Ortiz in #thebronx".

Another video of Guzman-Feliz laying down slumped over while bystanders scream and apply pressure to a stab wound on his neck has also surfaced online.

The NYPD released photos of five suspects and graphic footage captured by a security camera outside the bodega, seeking the public's help in finding the assailants.

"He was one of the good kids in the Bronx", his mother said.

Guzman-Feliz's death sent shockwaves through the community, and on social media, as the hashtag #JusticeforJunior began trending. They had recently taken two of the suspects into custody but were later able to track down three more members that they arrested, as well.

The leader of the Trinitarios gang apologized on Facebook, PIX11 reports, admitting Guzman-Feliz was wrongly targeted. "The suspects fled the location and the victim ran to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased".

Police responded to a call about an assault at about 11:40 front of a grocery store along E. 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue. "But he's gone. That doesn't change anything".

The teen's grieving mom, Leandra Feliz, 48, told the news outlet her son was her "angel".

As video emerged of his vicious attack, the Bronx rapper reached out to Junior's family to help out with $8000 (£6023). "What piss me off the most is that these BX cops be harassing the sh*t outta people then they see a boy bleeding to death and ask what happen?" she wrote.

"The only thing I want is my son back, and I'm not going to have him anymore".
