No MVP no problem for Curry as Warriors rule National Basketball Association again

He is often a man of few words, but Durant let his thoughts be known Friday night after the Warriors won their second consecutive title by finishing off a sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Golden State Warriors were the prohibitive favorites to win a second straight championship entering these NBA Finals.

Television ratings for the game itself tells us a story of a general public that largely tuned it out.

LeBron James walked into his final interview of the NBA Finals with one last surprise: A dark brace on his right hand, covering an injury he's hidden for a week.

The Golden State Warriors have won three of the last four NBA Finals and it doesn't look like the Bay Area dominance is going to come to a stop anytime soon.

When James' initial plan for a $200 million contract was foiled by an obscure rule under the old CBA, he helped the players union change that rule in the new CBA. Andre Iguodala has three off the bench. It's just that's the talent we have, and that's the experience we've gained.

"I get asked all the time about MJ, LeBron, and it's such a hard question to ask", Kerr said, per USA Today.

"I have no idea at this point", James said after Cleveland's Game 4 loss in the Finals.

"When you feel like you are really good at your craft, it's always great to be around other great minds and other great ballplayers", James said.

Now, James has a decision to make.

James finished the Finals averaging 34 points on 52.7 percent shooting overall (33.3 percent from 3), 10 assists and 8.5 rebounds.

Kerr paid tribute to what James achieved in dragging a team that was reconstituted at the February trade deadline to the Finals for the fourth straight season, but he concluded that the bottom line was "we had more talent than they did and talent wins in this league".

When it was all over Friday night, there was both an arrogance and a humility to Durant - both understandable. The way we played, the calls that were made throughout the course of that game, and I had emotions that the game was taken away from us.

Love 'em or hate 'em, there is no denying them.

Durant is one of 30 players to win the award. According to Barry Jackson of Miami Herald, the Heat will need to convince the Cavaliers to engage in a sign-and-trade deal or ask James to opt into the final year of his contract and demand a trade from Cleveland.

The Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers - James' two leading suitors - are next at 7-2.

In a sense he agreed with some of them, willingly acknowledging he can improve after the Cavs were swept by the Warriors, losing to Golden State for the third time in the past four years despite the presence of LeBron James. We've got a bunch of guys that don't care about anything but just being better basketball players every day and winning.

"Well, I mean, I'm not going to take you throughout the whole process. He's on the a year ago of a deal, so they don't want to take on money".
