Roman Abramovich has no interest in selling Chelsea

Despite problems renewing his United Kingdom visa, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich refused to sell Chelsea FC to the man described as the richest person in Britain.

Ineos, the chemicals firm owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, have refused to comment on reports the billionaire has attempted to buy Chelsea.

In recent weeks, Abramovich has experienced problems with gaining a working visa for the United Kingdom and has also chose to postpone plans to build a new stadium.

Meanwhile, TUKO.co.ke previously reported how Abramovich was reportedly planning to sell his Premier League club Chelsea and he has demanded a whopping sum of KSh 156.7 billion if he made a decision to sell Chelsea.

Ratcliffe, 65, is reported to be a Chelsea season ticket holder and last month topped the Sunday Times rich list which valued his personal fortune at 21.05 billion pounds, compared with Abramovich's 9.3 billion pounds.

Ineos already owns Swiss side Lausanne-Sport.

Some, however, wondered whether Chelsea FC would've been better off under Ratcliffe's patronage.

The Blues' Russian owner has taken Israeli citizenship after been involved with an ongoing saga with the UK Government pertaining to his visa. Ineos's annual turnover is about £45bn and it employs more than 18,500 people in 22 countries.

Abramovich bought Chelsea in 2003, with five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three EFL Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League being won since then.

A spokesman for the company told the Press Association: "We can't comment on market rumour or speculation". After pulling the plug on plans to renovate Stamford Bridge, speculation has arisen over the 51-year-old's future at the helm of the club.
