Samantha Bee Apologizes for Misogynistic Slur Against Ivanka Trump

Comedian Samantha Bee has apologised after insulting Ivanka Trump with a vulgar phrase on her television show.

Comedian Samantha Bee has apologised to Ivanka Trump and her viewers for using an expletive to describe US President Donald Trump's daughter.

All of those traits she abandoned in a slap at Ivanka Trump, for not fulfilling the comic's expectations in opposing the Trump administration's barbaric policy of separating undocumented families as they reach the border.

The former "Daily Show" regular did a short segment about the recent controversy surrounding reports that the US government has misplaced some 1,500 children of migrants due to the USA policy of separating migrant children from their parents.

"He listens to you", she continued. "Put on something tight and low-cut and tell him to stop it". Bee called out Ivanka Trump for posting a photo with her son amid reports that the government lost track of 1,500 children, calling it the "second most oblivious tweet" shared this week.

There was no immediate comment from TBS on Thursday.

"Those words should not have been aired", TBS said.

TBS said Bee had taken the right step in apologizing.

Yet not everyone on Twitter was ready to accept Bee's apology.

As fans of "Full Frontal" have surely noticed, Samantha Bee isn't a fan of Ivanka Trump.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the language was "vile and vicious" and called on network management to demonstrate that it wouldn't be condoned. "It was inappropriate and inexcusable". She's not really sorry, I would have said, and even if she were she surely wouldn't cede an inch of moral high ground to the Trumps by acknowledging that she wronged them, however negligibly.

The auto company Autotrader said that it would pull its advertising sponsorship from "Full Frontal", calling Bee's language offensive and unacceptable. Her provocative comments came just a day after ABC pulled the plug on "Roseanne". And NBC News's Today host Megyn Kelly had called hypocrites any media outlet that "gleefully" posted Bee's video the morning after savaging Barr for her racist tweet.

"Let's look at his actions and not his words, in this case", he said. Bee's remark was scripted and the segment had been taped in advance, which meant many people working on the program had time to reconsider it. The remark sparked a furor on social media and came after conservative actress Roseanne Barr was sacked and had her show canceled for making a racist comment about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. She suggested that there's a double standard.

Some are comparing Bee's comment to Roseanne Barr's racism.
