This is what the BlackBerry KEY2 looks like

The leaked images are consistent with the past rumours which suggested the phone will feature a combination of touch-screen and a QWERTY keypad. For those unaware, KEY2 is the successor of BlackBerry KEYone. Now, just a day before its official unveiling, credible tipster Evan Blass has seemingly revealed the handset's full specifications.

Starting off with perhaps the most interesting details, a significantly improved processor is included in this year's BlackBerry KEY2. Connectivity options on the BlackBerry KEY2 are likely to include the 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C, 4G LTE and dual-SIM support.

And last but not least from Twitter again, BlackBerry's anticipated Key2 premium Android smartphone is launching on June 7.

BlackBerry didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. The 3:2 aspect ratio is mainly because the smartphone will have a physical keyboard making it a large device to hold.

The cameras here can also apparently shoot 4K footage at 30 frames per second and have a dual-LED flash, while there's an 8MP camera listed for the front.

While talking about the fingerprint scanner, the Key2 is expected to house the biometric sensors on the spacebar of the keyboard like its predecessor.

BlackBerry KEY2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 8 Kryo cores up to 2.2 GHz, backed up by 6 Gb of RAM, and 64 or 128 Gb of storage capacity expandable via microSD card.

We still don't know what kind of specs the KEY2 will come equipped with or how much it'll cost, but those fine details will soon be set in stone later this week. On the software side it will run Android Oreo 8.0 and a host of Blackberry's own apps. This is notably higher than the price of the BlackBerry KEYone that was launched in the USA at $549 (around Rs. 36,700). This could of course change, but luckily we won't have to wait long to find out.
