Trump Lashes Out At Media For Questioning Melania’s Whereabouts

Her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement at the time that she had an "embolization procedure for a benign kidney condition".

That relatively lengthy hospitalization and the low profile she has maintained since she returned to the White House sparked all sorts of theories on the social networks, including that she had left Trump or was cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller in the Russian Federation probe.

Her office has declined to provide additional details about Mrs Trump's condition, citing privacy rights.

United States First Lady Melania Trump has made her first appearance in front of the cameras in nearly a month, as her husband railed at media coverage of her long absence from public view.

At the briefing event, Trump said Melania was doing great even though she had a rough patch. The First Lady is in good spirits and she is resting.

After more than 20 days without a single appearance, we're pleased as ever to report that Melania Trump is back, baby.

The president earlier on Wednesday criticized the "Fake News Media" for "unfair" and "vicious" reporting of his wife during her surgery recovery that included "everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H".

Video posted on Twitter showed the first lady, who wore a black sleeveless dress and her trademark stilettos, strolling into the East Room accompanied by the president. "All Fake, she is doing really well!" he said.

Being out of the public eye is fine - if Melania needed some time away from the spotlight, that could be understood, and all the president had to say was as much.

"The procedure was successful and there were no complications", the statement read.

The first lady addressed the theories herself, tweeting on May 30: "I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am and what I'm doing".

"First lady Melania Trump might have the best favorability rating of anyone in or close to the White House, similar to Michelle Obama's favorability in 2010", said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

Before this week, Mrs. Trump was last seen in public on May 10, helping Trump welcome home three Americans released from detention in North Korea.
