White House Economic Adviser: Canada's Trudeau 'Stabbed Us In The Back'

White House Economic Adviser: Canada's Trudeau 'Stabbed Us In The Back'

On Sunday, key aides to Mr. Trump piled on in US television interviews, accusing Mr. Trudeau of a "betrayal" and warning there was a "special place in hell" for him.

That comes after Trudeau's press conference on Saturday.

President Trump concluded his G7 meetings, declaring the US has been taken advantage of for decades on trade, and assured that all of the involved countries are much more committed to fair trade with America.

Trump's tweets about not signing the communique were sent while he was traveling to Singapore ahead of a planned diplomatic meeting with North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un.

"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad-faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door", said Navarro.

"The president's support for inviting Russian Federation back into the G-7, just after they meddled in the election to support his campaign, will leave millions of Americans with serious questions and suspicions", Schumer said.

In the same interview, Merkel said the European Union was preparing to implement counter-measures against USA tariffs on imported steel and aluminum.

Trudeau later said he reiterated to Trump that tariffs will harm industries and workers on both sides of the U.S.

Other photos taken of the discussion were soon released, by the White House and the offices of other leaders.

"The non-factual part of this is - they have enormous tariffs", Kudlow said on CNN's "State of the Union".

President Donald Trump will head to La Charlevoix, Quebec, on Friday, for a two-day Group of Seven (G-7) summit meeting, as tensions between the administration and its key allies worsen.

In an unscheduled statement, Trump said he wants to put an end to the United States' status as the world's "piggy bank" and suggested eliminating trade barriers between allies. She also said that Europe will not let itself be "deceived" again.

The White House is escalating its verbal attacks against Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of close American ally Canada.

A New York Times reporter who was present at the Trudeau press conference tweeted Sunday that he didn't understand what remarks Kudlow was referring to when the economic adviser said Trudeau stabbed the U.S.in the back.

A Trudeau spokesman, Cameron Ahmad, said last night that Mr Trudeau "said nothing he hasn't said before - both in public and in private conversations" with Mr Trump.

A few hours earlier, Trudeau had told reporters that all seven leaders had come together to sign the joint declaration. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!

On Friday, European Council President Donald Tusk said Trump's criticism of the global rules-based order is "playing into the hands of those who seek a new post-West order where liberal democracy and fundamental freedoms would cease to exist".
