Danny Ings: Liverpool striker set to leave Anfield this summer

Liverpool wanted Ings to stay at the club and offered him a new long-term deal but the 25-year-old has made a decision to leave in order to play regular football after an injury-blighted spell on Merseyside.

This could pave the way for Ings to depart, with first-team football unlikely to be regularly afforded by Klopp.

Ings' Anfield career has been hampered by knee injuries since he joined Liverpool from Burnley in 2015.

He was one of Liverpool's last signings under Brendan Rodgers but has been limited to just 14 Premier League appearances in three seasons - with three goals.

I think it could be a good deal between both parties as Liverpool are also willing to dethrone Premier League champions Manchester City and for that, they are looking for more stronger options to inject quality in attack.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp wants to give the 23-year-old time to prove himself in Merseyside before deciding whether to keep him on next season.

Joyce writes: "Foreign interest has been headed by clubs such as RB Leipzig, Inter Milan, Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen".

Solanke moved to Liverpool last July on a free transfer, although Chelsea were entitled to compensation due to the fact they offered him a new contract and that he was under the age of 24 at the time of his move.

Having missed so much football at a crucial stage in his development, it'll be tough for Ings to reach his potential.

However, it seems Spurs are set to miss out as the Independent claims that Liverpool are expected to confirm Shaqiri's arrival at Anfield after he's finished representing Switzerland at the World Cup.
